  • What value does exercise have in stress management?

    One fundamental that helps improve our ability to cope with stress is exercise. This can be as involved as aerobic conditioning, or as simple as purposefully being more active in our normal life. Some of the stress management benefits of increased acti vity include:
    • Increased oxygen to the brain helps alertness and cognition
    • Activity helps the body use up stress-induced hormones and releases tension
    • Exercise increases production of endorphins, hormones that cause us to feel "good"
    • Exercise improves ability to physically relax and to sleep
